Boxing Day - English Football Tradition

Published by atomickarma at 8:54 am under English Premier League Edit This

You just cannot beat the seasonal program in English Football, regardless as to whether you think it a holiday would be better to tie the leagues - in particular the English Premier League - to the rest of the major European leagues.

Better still, this years Boxing Day program in the EPL offers not one single glamour clash, with fans of teams outside of the top 5 getting a great Boxing Day present in solid football that gives them the chance to inflict some pain on the giants.

The fixture list today looks a little bit like this:

Aston Villa v Arsenal, 17:15
Chelsea v West Brom, 13:00
Liverpool v Bolton, 15:00
Man City v Hull, 15:00
Middlesbrough v Everton, 15:00
Portsmouth v West Ham, 13:00
Stoke v Man Utd, 12:45
Sunderland v Blackburn, 15:00
Tottenham v Fulham, 13:00
Wigan v Newcastle, 15:00

While Aston Villa and Arsenal is the biggest match of the day, everything else is  game for fans to savour, with a good bit of British footballing tradition.

It’s the holiday season, perfect for the chance to grab a pint before the game, enjoy a pie and a cuppa at half time, and then celebrate of commiserate after the game.

Personally speaking I’m hoping for a Boro win against Everton as we’re desperate for the points - but whoever you are and whatever team you support, have a great day!
