Call those “Title Credentials”?
Recent weeks have seen the top two teams in the English Premier League - Liverpool and Chelsea - finding themselves under pressure to raise their game, as despite all positive press and various commentators declaring that one or the other will be crowned champions in the Spring, neither seems able to pull away.
Liverpool managed to earn a point against a resilient and organised West Ham United on Monday night as they ground out a 0-0 draw, and while this gives them an important 1 point it doesn’t dissuade from the fact that Manchester United are on 28 points to Liverpool’s 34.
That’s 3 nil-all draws in a row for Liverpool, and despite the wishes of most of Britain to see a different team win the league, it does seem at the moment that Manchester United are rocketing up the table as Liverpool and Chelsea - who have lot 4 times at Stamford Bridge this season, 2 of those in the league - get mired in some sort of mini league.
Neither Scolari or Benitez should allow their teams to carry on in their current run of form - Christmas is traditionally the time of year in which Premiership dreams are broken…
