Would the interested parties in Newcastle United please stand up?

Joe Kinnear with his mouth shut

Since having taken charge in September, Joe Kinnear has guided Newcastle United to a run of 2 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats, while also (seemingly) taking charge of the clubs Public Relations department.

Apparently both Mike Ashley and Dennis Wise are unavailable to make any kind of contact with the media or fans, leaving the hard graft to Kinnear - how else do you explain this?

“I didn’t think when I first took the job that I would be here this long to be honest,” said Kinnear.

“At the time it was clear they had somebody who was going to buy the club within eight weeks, so we didn’t get down to talking about finances and stuff for players.

“But now… it seems the club won’t be sold until after Christmas.

“So far, nobody has come up with the cash.

“Mike said they were Americans but the offer they made was well below his estimation of what the club was worth.”

Whether Newcastle United gets sold or not, it seems increasingly likely that for all of his good intentions and hard work at St James’ Park - bringing the most stability to the team on and off the field since Sir Bobby Robson’s period - Kinnear is just as in the dark as the rest of us.

Given Mike Ashley’s previous form, it wouldn’t be a massive leap of faith to suggest that there is NO BUYER for Newcastle United.  There is NO INTERESTED PARTY.

Because if there was, the Press would know how it was now, such is the soap opera, Dallas-esque, topsy turvy world of Newcastly United.
