Organisation and Management

I’ve long been of the opinion that England’s poor showing in their last few international competitions has been down to bad management and a lack of organisation, coupled with the posing, preening pop star icon rubbish.
Fabio Capello’s appointment threatened to brush the crap under the carpet, and certainly so far he’s succeeded in turning around a bunch of over-rated, under-achievers into a team that looks once more to be one of the best in Europe.
Of course, this won’t be enough for Capello.
The job is only half done. England may have a team when before they had 11 entities, but now qualification has to be successful and emphatic, and send a message across the world, one that says “Beware”.
At the moment however, until the return matches against Ukraine, Belarus and Croatia, this level of quality can’t be achieved or stated.
Will it come? Difficult to say a definite “Yes”.
England and Capello have without a doubt made a record-breaking start to the qualifying campaign, and as the momentum builds, only a fool would bet against them.
As long as he can get them to keep the ball on the ground, as well as their feet…
