Soccer Saturdays in the Algarve

Published by atomickarma at 4:22 pm under English Premier League Edit This

Currently holidaying in Portugal, it’s not hard to see just how pervasive football has become in Europe.

This particular Algarve resort boasts bars and pubs able to display not just the coming weekend’s English Premier League action - every minute live, including Middlesbrough vs Sunderland - and not just every available match North of the Border.

Also on the televisual menu of 22 men kicking a pigs bladder round a pitch is the gamut of Portuguese and Spanish fixtures not to mention the highlights from leagues from far-flung places like Brazil and Japan.

Like many British-focussed resorts, Sky Sports News is everywhere, often running on one screen while a match plays on another - in some bars all available matches are playing.

Sun, sea, sand and Saturday afternoon football!
