Theo Walcott, England hat-trick heroThere really is no other explanation for it - the LHC experiment in CERN has meddled with reality as we know it, giving England a vital win over Croatia.

No matter how often and England fan hopes and prays for results of this nature, when they finally come along, it is impossible to take them seriously.

In a game full of incident and concern - especially for the gashed head of Joe Cole - England’s Theo Walcott has grabbed the headlines with a HAT-TRICK.

The last England hat-trick was by Michael Owen in September 2001, as Sven Goran Eriksson’s men demolished a below par Germany1-5.  Interestingly Germany’s Miroslav Klose kept the Teutonic hat in the ring this evening as they came from behind to draw with Finland in Helsinki, while France managed to beat Serbia.

Despite an impressive 3 goal haul for young Walcott, Fabio Cappello is the real man of the moment.

In burying the ghost of the McClaren era of England in the shape of Slaven Bilic’s Croatia, Cappello and his determined leadership, tactical genius has written a very clear message to the World Cup almost 2 full years before the tournament kicks off.

England are back.
